Marc Hogeboom

Marc Hogeboom

After more than three decades in financial and professional services, Marc Hogeboom is increasingly working at the intersection of advisory, investment and entrepreneurship. His current activities span businesses backed both with and without private equity, allowing him to apply his experience in finance, governance and organisational development from several different perspectives. Hogeboom is involved with companies at different stages of their development, serving on the Advisory Board of Deutsche Credit Capital Partners, holding a financial leadership role at AXO Group and advising several scale-ups within the financial services sector. Across these activities, his work combines strategic advice with practical involvement in financing, growth and business development.

A career foundation in financial services

Hogeboom built the foundation for his current activities during more than thirty years at KPMG. He joined the firm in 1990 and progressed to partner, board member and Head of Assurance, working extensively with banks, insurers, asset managers and other financial institutions. Over time, his responsibilities expanded from accountancy, advisory and client work to leadership, governance and organisational development. He also gained international experience through KPMG International as a memebr of the global steering group and was involved in themes such as quality, digitalisation and the continued development of the accountancy profession. This experience now supports the broader business role he has taken on since leaving KPMG several years ago.

Advising and investing alongside private equity

Private equity is one of the environments in which advisory work, investment and entrepreneurship naturally come together. Companies backed by investors often need to combine commercial ambition with financial structure, governance and professionalisation as they grow. Hogeboom’s experience allows him to approach these questions from several angles. His background in complex financial organisations gives him a strong understanding of structure and governance, while his current roles bring him closer to the entrepreneurial side of the market. Not every company he works with involves private equity, but the common thread is where financial expertise, strategic choices and entrepreneurship overlap.

Building private credit in the Benelux

At Deutsche Credit Capital Partners, or DCCP, Hogeboom serves on the Advisory Board. The pan-European private credit platform provides financing solutions for medium-sized companies, with Hogeboom particularly involved in establishing its activities in the Benelux. Private credit offers companies an alternative to traditional bank financing when funding growth, acquisitions or other strategic plans. For Hogeboom, this connects his long-standing financial background with his more recent work alongside entrepreneurs and investors.

An active role within AXO Group

Hogeboom also holds a financial leadership role at AXO Group, which brings together established installation companies while allowing them to retain their own identity and regional position. As the group grows, areas such as acquisitions, financing, reporting and professionalisation become increasingly important. His role reflects the broader direction of his career, in which financial expertise is combined with entrepreneurship and active involvement in organisational development.

Working with financial services scale-ups

Alongside these roles, Hogeboom advises several financial services scale-ups and financial institutions in the Netherlands. He often acts as a sparring partner for management on topics such as growth strategy, financial structuring and reporting. These questions become especially important when entrepreneurial growth needs to be supported by a more mature organisation, as governance, internal processes and financial structures all need to develop alongside commercial ambitions.

The current work of Marc Hogeboom

Hogeboom’s work now extends beyond the traditional boundaries of accountancy and financial services. Today, his activities span advisory, investment, governance and entrepreneurship, both with and without private equity involvement. After more than thirty years within a major international professional services organisation, he now works directly alongside entrepreneurs, investors and management teams. His current work increasingly brings together financial expertise, strategic decision-making and business growth.
